Sumy National Agrarian University has officially launched the certificate training course \u201cEU Standards and Institutional Infrastructure of Audit and Assurance\u201d<\/strong>, implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module EU-TRUST (101236015)<\/strong> entitled \u201cEnhancing Trust: Advancing EU Values in Audit, Ethics and Public Accountability in Financial Governance\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a competitive selection process, 25 participants<\/strong> were admitted to the programme, including bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s students, PhD candidates, and academic staff members. The course brings together participants from different educational and professional backgrounds who share an interest in European approaches to auditing, ethics, public accountability, financial governance, and regulatory oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curriculum covers a broad range of contemporary issues related to the development of the auditing profession and the institutional framework of audit regulation in the European Union. Participants will explore the logic of auditing in democratic governance systems, the evolution of EU audit reforms following major corporate scandals, the institutional architecture of audit oversight, the role of CEAOB, the adoption and implementation of International Standards on Auditing, regulation of public-interest entities, audit committees, auditor independence, and audit quality inspection systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special attention is devoted to emerging developments in the profession, including sustainability assurance under CSRD and ESRS, public-sector auditing, the role of the European Court of Auditors, investor protection, financial stability, and Ukraine\u2019s pathway towards alignment with EU audit legislation and institutional practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme comprises 40 academic hours<\/strong> and includes lectures, consultations, interactive discussions, assessment activities, and final certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening session introduced participants to the EU-TRUST project, its objectives, expected outcomes, and contribution to strengthening European values in financial governance. Participants also discussed the importance of professional ethics, public accountability, and trust as fundamental pillars of democratic governance and high-quality auditing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course contributes to the preparation of a new generation of professionals capable of applying European audit and assurance standards, strengthening transparency, accountability, and public trust in Ukraine, and supporting the country\u2019s ongoing European integration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
