Iryna Smetanska acts in the project as a senior expert / consultant.
Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, is a recognized expert in the field of crop processing, biotechnology and environmentally sustainable technologies in agriculture. Many other work experiences at the University of Applied Sciences Weinstefan-Triesdorf (Germany), as well as participation in international scientific programs (DAAD, ERASMUS+) contribute to the development of European integration processes in Ukrainian agricultural education.
In addition, Professor Smetanska participated in international conferences, where she presented her research. Thus, she delivered a report “The content of biologically active phenolic compounds and antioxidants in different types of berries” at a conference dedicated to berry growing in Ukraine. NUBIP.EDU.UA Iryna Smetanska also actively promotes international cooperation between Ukrainian and German agricultural universities. She is an organizer and participant in projects aimed at supporting the digitalization of Ukrainian agricultural universities, in particular within the framework of the DAAD and ERASMUS+ programs.
Author of 25 textbooks and monographs, 2 patents, 123 journal articles and 121 abstracts in conference proceedings. Overall h-index (Scopus) – 27, h-index for the last 5 years – 24. She has trained 12 postgraduate students. Member of the editorial board of scientific journals “Food Engineering Reviews” (Elsevier-Springer), “Global Science Books (Food Science)”, “Journal of Food Science” (Elsevier), “Molecules” (MDPI). She was a member of the scientific committee of the South Tyrolean Research Center (Italy), an expert of the German Association of Food Technologists DLG (Germany), an expert of the Volkswagen Foundation and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine. She has experience working with scientific projects DFG, TEMPUS, Erasmus, DAAD, DBU, BayHost, BMBF, Channel.
Thanks to her experience and scientific achievements, Professor Smetanska makes a significant contribution to the development of agricultural science and education, contributing to the introduction of modern technologies in the processing of crop products and strengthening international scientific ties.
Her participation in the project is a major factor in improving its quality and successfully implementing environmental standards in the European system of agricultural education in Ukraine.
